Our ticket office is housed in one of the oldest canal-related buildings in the region, dating back to 1774 and listed as Grade II. Originally used as a warehouse for canal cargo, the building still features two original cranes—one facing the canal and another overlooking the cobbled car park, once home to stables for tow horses. The nearby canal basin was also the site of Winterwell Hall, a medieval manor lost during canal construction.
