Join Creative Manchester and the Linguistic Diversity Collective for a session of ‘blackout poetry,’ finding meaning in a scientific text by selecting certain words and redacting the rest to create a literary and visual work of art.
Although scientists publish their work in academic journals or others to read, these can often be difficult to understand due to the type of language used. Join us for a session of blackout poetry, where participants can find meaning in a scientific text by selecting certain words and redacting the rest to create a literary and visual work of art. Our researchers will be on hand to show you what to do and discuss any of the source material, if needed.
This is a drop-in session, so feel free to arrive at any point.
