Points of Interest

Stop At: Hutton-le-Hole
Journey through the Vale of York and visit this traditional National Park village. Wander among stone-built cottages, spot sheep grazing on the common, or enjoy a Yorkshire brew in one of the cafés.
Duration: 30 minutes

Stop At: North York Moors National Park
Travel across the dramatic heather-clad moors, passing the Lion Inn on Blakey Ridge (highest point on the Moors) and Ralph’s Cross, before heading down into Whitby.

Stop At: Whitby Harbour
Enjoy 2.5 hours free time in Whitby (2 hours if taking the optional steam train). Explore Whitby Abbey, discover the Captain Cook Museum, take a harbor boat trip, or browse shops and markets. Don’t miss the famous fish & chips at the Magpie Café!

Stop At: North Yorkshire Moors Railway (Optional Extra)
Take the 2:00 PM steam train from Whitby for a 45-minute moorland journey to Goathland (Hogsmeade Station in Harry Potter). Special discounted tickets available, payable locally on the day.

Stop At: Goathland Station & Village
See the famous “Hogsmeade” station and explore the picturesque village of Goathland, known as “Aidensfield” from Heartbeat.
Duration: 45 minutes

Stop At: The Hole of Horcum
Brief stop to learn about the natural amphitheatre’s dramatic legends and the nearby RAF Fylingdales Pyramid.
Duration: 5 minutes

Stop At: Castle Howard (Views Only)
Return journey passes through the scenic Howardian Hills, with panoramic views of Castle Howard.
